by - November 22, 2025

Tony Award winner (and Marvel Avenger) Scarlett Johansson will lead an all-star reading of Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s 1950 film All About Eve November 17. The event will take place at 7 PM at 263 West 86th Street in New York's Upper West Side. It will benefit Center At West Park and the preservation of the landmark West Park Presbyterian Church.

The cast will also include Alec Baldwin, J. Smith-Cameron, Luke Kirby, Nicole Ari Parker, John Benjamin Hickey, Michael Mastro, Charles Busch, Ella Stiller, and Charles Everett. Additionally, Tony-winning Hairspray composing team Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman is involved, with Wittman directing and Shaiman providing piano accompaniment.

All About Eve is about aspiring actress Eve Harrington, whose idol is Broadway star Margo Channing. Eve successfully maneuvers her way into Margo's life, threatening to ruin Margo's career in the process.

Based on a short story by Mary Orr, the film released in 1950 and quickly became a cinema classic and Academy Award Best Picture winner. The cast included Bette Davis, Anne Baxter, Celeste Holm, Thelma Ritter, Marilyn Monroe, and more.

Center at West Park is a community center and theatre is currently in residency at St. Paul and St. Andrew’s Church at 86th Street and West End Avenue, where it continues its programming.

The Center vacated its original home, landmarked West-Park Presbyterian Church, a building that's over 140 years old, after the building’s owners filed a hardship application with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) seeking to remove the site’s landmark status, so that it can be knocked down to make way for a high rise.

The Center is currently in the midst of a campaign to save the church. As part of the campaign, the institution previously held a reading of Hold On to Me Darling starring Matt Damon.
